SUMMARY:“RB Strummers” Organizational Meeting for Upcoming Ukulele Course
DESCRIPTION:Ever had the desire to play a musical instrument, either for your own enjoyment or together with others? Well, now’s your chance! You may have heard about Rarity Bay’s enthusiastic Ukulele group called the “RB Strummers.” Last year, our own Bob Foster, former director of The Rare Notes and who has played the ukulele in several clubs and festivals over the years, initiated the group and it is going strong with sixteen permanent members! Other residents have expressed interest, so Bob is announcing a second “Introductory Ukulele” series of classes to begin early June on Monday afternoons. The course is designed for men and women, from beginners to those with some experience on another instrument, and even to those with some exposure to the ukulele.



If you think you might be interested, Bob will hold an initial Orientation Meeting scheduled for May 16 from 3:00-4:00 pm at no cost. At that meeting, you will learn about the structure of the course.  Bob will give you recommendations on acquiring an appropriate “beginner’s” ukulele. If you wish to purchase your own, a decent quality beginner’s uke will start at around $60, so there is no huge investment to get started.



The first step is for Bob to gauge the level of interest. So if you think you might be interested, either as a complete beginner or with some basic exposure, please reply to Cathy Filosi by May 9, 2022 at: RBWC.LearningLabs@gmail.com. There will be a limit of ten students.
